Beaded Stars
What Edward Miller made from my simple Beaded Stars design is amazing! His creativity make these stars very special! Congratulation!
His observations are the following:
“When gold beads are used for the bezel on a rose rivoli, the color of the rivoli changes to look like padparascha and so additional crystals must be padparascha to match.
I suppose if you want to maintain the rose color you must use silver beads.

If you use a size 12 needle and 6 lb test Fireline throughout the project, the needle will still pass easily through the edge Delicas which must carry 9 or more passes of the needle and thread. Although the work in progress feels flimsy, the gradual filling of the edge beads with thread gives the piece more strength and sturdiness.
One 2mm crystal, or 2 #15 beads will also fit as corner beads between the 2 Delicas along the spine in each arm of the star.”
Very usuful for all of us – beaders!
Thank you Edward for this wonderful photos and your observations!
“Their edges are like razors and always cut the thread right away. I didn’t understand why they even bothered to manufacture such a bead. Also, the beads seem weaker, breaking easily. But now I see the benefits. The surface formed in peyote with the satin beads is breathtaking, just like satin. It is chatoyant almost like Tiger Eye”
