Use stories or facts from daily life (Part 10)
I didn’t forget to continue with writing on this blog about my experiences and I am daring to say: my advices “How to get a new client”. I have been very busy lately. You know, it’s the end of the year and everybody wants to do in the last month everything what they have not done during the eleven months before… Amazing! That approach or other people laziness makes us so nervous. A little stress can be a good thing, but stress overload isn’t good for anyone.
But, let’s continue…
During the meeting, in the appropriate moment I “insert” a story from life… Of course, those stories have to be somehow topic-related and you have to recognize the right moment to start with it. Most of the time, the right moment is when you finish with most important things about business.
If you want to talk about some news, select the most current, something that people talk and discuss the previous days. But never mention politics issues!!! If you didn’t inform yourself about people with who you are going to have a meeting and about their political preferences, never talk about politics!
When you start with your story, automatically the other party will start with their own stories or about their opinion. So, again you have the moment when they open themselves more to you and start to look at you friendlier.
Be careful when you are giving your opinion. It’s better listen to them first. After that, you can easy customize your opinion
. Don’t forget, your opinion about something is not important, but also nobody likes someone who is nodding on everything what they are saying. If you really agree with something what they are talking about, even better! But, if you don’t, keep it for yourself and use your different way of thinking only like a question.
For example:” Don’t you think that they could do that better?”
In that case, again you ask them for their opinion. You didn’t mention that you not agree with them. Everything is about them and most of people love that, because they feel important, again and again and again…
