The way of thinking and jewelry from packaging

Posted on February 4 2010 by Ellad2

necklesDear ladies, I present to you Yoav Kotik’s “Precious Metal” collection: rings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants made from metal bottle caps…

Well, it’s not my style, but you have to admit it’s a very cool design. I read some discussions about “Are consumers going to wear this?” or “Do we identify ourselves with products that we use?” For example: “I am a Diet Coke girl” or “I am Coke zero girl”…

I would not go so far with these comments. This article is about The way of thinking.

For me, it’s a very good idea and I always think about possibilities “How to make the commercial value from that? Maybe it’s because I was working more than 15 years in Marketing and I am not a designer. I only have now that “Professional deformation”…:)

Of course there are those among us who would wear such jewelry. Why not, if they feel good with it? That’s easy.

But could you think on my way:

Incentives for the companies who have metal packaging or metal bottle caps?
They can use their own spoilage and make jewelry for their consumers or clients like incentives, or like value added pack…For me it’s a long story! Of course, PR has to be very strong, but whole new trend of pop up jewelry is in the air, especially for young generation.

You see? It’s about different way of thinking. Also, each commodity has its own customer.
