Tarot reading, witches and other things
A day like any other. We are sitting in a restaurant, talking about our ideas for the future. Cheerful people at the next table. They are singing, exchange Christmas gifts. Nothing unusual. They are inviting us to join them. We are agreeing. They are from Norway. Official language at the table: English.
One lady, very laud and it seems with huge desire to be the center of attention, introducing herself like “Scottish witch”. On this, my Man says that I am a witch, too. It is our internal joke, but she didn’t think so…
They are all very drunk, still relatively decent.
“Scottish witch” has in a black little bag, Tarot cards. We are talking relaxing. I’m telling her how I expect friends from my country. She says: “Someone will not come”. She is forcing me to draw a card and ask a question. I do not want. She insists. I am trying to reject her with “I have a lot of questions, and can not choose ”. She is saying:” Yes you can and puts the cards in front of me. For me, all this is a joke. She still insists. I am taking a card finally, just to stop this and she still responds: “Will not come” She apologizes to me a dozen times, with sorrow in her eyes.
I expect my son visit me. Ticket is purchased, everything is organized, and she says “will not come”. I’m still in the “game mood”.
They are more and more drunk, and I don’t enjoy it anymore. She asks me, are we married (my Man and I). I say no, and she replied: “You will marry”… then she is starting to “think” or “to see”:
“In 2010 you will not, 2011 will not, 2012 will not … she is in a panic suddenly. She is taking cards, draws a card … I’m constantly telling her that I do not care, and also I have no intention to marry.
Horrified, she asks me “Is somebody sick?” She looks at him, then at me, again him… me… “I do not know, I hope not, who could know that?” – I reply. She starts to apologize to me again billions times again with sorrow in her eyes. She is telling me “Don’t listen to me, I am drunk and I should not play with the Tarot when I am drunk” But, again she is apologizing to me and says that she never talk about sicknesses and I must not say what she told me to anybody. Her horrified face, her body is shaking, as she saw real horror. She is not telling who is sick, she doesn’t talk about what it is, but she is apologizing to me, because something will happen to one of us and because of that will not be 2010, neither 2011 nor 2012 for us … She is saying that I have to promise her that I will not tell anyone what she told me. I promised, but I knew in advance that it was “empty promise” … She also was insisting all the time, that she didn’t push me… That wasn’t true at all, she was pushing me all the time, but for her it was important that I say it was my will… You can not argue with drunk person…
She got up suddenly and said she had to go to the toilet. She returned after 10 minutes, calm. We have agreed to meet each other again in a 3 days at 14h in the same place.
That day is today. They didn’t appear. Somehow, I didn’t expect.
But what about those 3 days?
It is not pleasant when someone says such bad things to you. As much as you do not believe in it, the questions arise … The first day I was occupied with finding answers to the question: Does anyone can predict the future? Does the future exist? Does the fate exist? Who could tell? What kind of stories I heard before on the same topic?
The second day I was angry. This is contrary to Christianity. It is a devil’s work. She sang Christmas songs, but she played with the Tarot cards?
Then I wondered: Why someone needs to tell something like that to someone else? All the time I thought she would appear to apologize, because I would do that. She didn’t appear with the apology and she has not appeared on the appointed place in the agreed time.
How someone can say something like that? Even if it is true? What kind of person is that?
Then I was sad, because earlier I said when I met my Man that I was sorry that I haven’t met him before, because then we would have more time to spend together in our lives. For me next 40 years with him is not enough … We always talking about 40 years … that’s a deal between us 
And suddenly some person appeared call herself “Scottish witch” and said in my face what “she see” and “what the Tarot says.”
Who are these people? What are they? Are they people?
How they can affect our life with such behavior? How many of these self-proclaimed witch and tarot expert ruin people’s lives? They are very suggestive. They are dangerous. Most of them take money for that. What a shame!
Those things you have to forget very quickly, doesn’t matter how difficult it is, but we can always have some doubts. On the other hand, people who believe in it can completely change their lives or ruin their lives, because once someone told them something what they can expect in the future. Some people spend years waiting for the person who someone saw in cards, or crystal ball… And that person never appears, and they missed a lot of other people during that time… There are such people…
Think about how dangerous are those things, before you ever even think to do something in direction of “future predictions”. You are the one who decide about your own future, nobody else!
Thank you Indi. I was thinking the same. Also, I was talking with some friends who has some experiance about tarot reading… They told me the same. I have to admit, that I still have that story in my head and every time when I feel pain somewhere or my Man, I remember that woman… It’s not easy to forget. I respect readers who are really trying to help people, to give them some kind of direction, what is best for them.
I was reading also, that you must not opet tarot cards when you are drunk… So, that woman made a lot of mistakes and actually she is not a good person. She doesn’t has a clean and good heart.

Hello Ella. I am sorry about your experience with the tarot reader but wanted to give you some idea about a genuine reader. The tarot and all other methods of divination are like a map. Like being on a crossroad and all the cards do is to tell you which direction to take in your life.They are energies and are never meant as predictions.
It is unethical for any reader to give out a scary reading especially predicting death is not even allowed. She was a fake but that does not mean all readers are. There are readers who use the energies for bringing comfort and healing to many by giving them hope.
I sincerely hope and wish you will meet a good reader some day.

thank you very much for your comment. Sorry I didn’t reply earlier, I was a little bit busy with sailing things. Yes, “delete,delete,delete”! But still, sometimes, I am asking myself: why she told me that awful things? What is a reason? Dear Ella, first of all I wish you a happy new 2010! Second of all I would like to tell you about my experience with “spirituality “. For 2 years I have been in fear for my life because once a palm reader has told me that I would have a severe head injury because my head line on a palm is broken. SO I have been miserable for 2 long years until one day in a small book shop I came across this small book on chiromancy. I was standing in that book shop for an hour and I was reading the book word by word, line by line, trying to find something about broken head line on a palm…Nothing…Than on the last page, a word from the author “maybe you are wondering why there is nothing about broken head line” …(.”yes exactly”,) …”well…,” ,the author continues ,” …for 10 years I have been trying to figure out the meaning of a broken head line because I have a broken head line, and palm readers told me it was a bad thing …only to find out that it does not mean anything bad, it means that in one point in your life you will make a change, make a decision that will change your life.” So, I accepted it as the only truth and moved on with my life. What I know about tarot…tarot is all about a lucky guess (if it regards past…) and suggestion (if it regards future). So what you have to do, immediately, is forget that you have ever met this evil woman. One very wise women I once met, told me that “noone knows our future, and if there is a person that knows it, that person would never tell us anything about it”. I also have to tell you that my ex boyfriend has earned his way through college by having a tarot line. He studied journalism so he was very good in talking to people, making up things, beeing convincible, manipulative…He told me it was all a lucky guess…for egs. calls a young woman, asks about love, he says “I can see that you are now unhappy in love”…(as if you would call happy in love)…”you will meet a man in 3 months time, but he will not be the one….” “I see marriage in 1995.”. …(so she will hope to marry someone)….”it will not last, you will divorce and meet your true love in 1999″… (so she will ruin her relationship, I mean “why bother when I am going to have a second marriage anyway”)…When my boyfriend finished his school he passed his “tarot business” to his mother. She is a cook. She works in a restaurant and when at home she is on the phone and makes money by talking to people. I have seen it, heard it…she has cards infront of her (on every card there is an explanation because she does not know the future, one card has at least four explanations, what was interesting for me to see, is that there are lucky and sad explanation on each one of the cards and they decide what to tell you)….So these people are playing with the fire, eventually they’ll get burned, but as long as there are poor, unhappy people who need someone to talk to, anybody,,,tarot, palm readers etc will earn their bread in this ugly way……. SO, just forget it ever happened “delete delete delete”. I strongly believe that when something bad happens, or we see something ugly, read something sad, we just have to erase it in our head “delete delete delete” and it is deleted, gone..never existed…And yes, we all create our future by our thoughts today. We are what we think. That women was probably very sad in her own life, and the only thing she could see in you and your Man is that you are happy, that you live an interesting life and she was just jelaous.
