Small and Big corruption

R. left Serbia, a little country on the Balkan and has started her life on a Island in the Atlantic Ocean. One day, totally irritated about the corruption on those Islands, she told to her neighbour:

“You know, I thought my country is one of the most corrupted countries in the world! Also, some worldwide statistics said that we have a very high ranking.”

Her neighbour calm her down: “No dear, in Third World countries it’s a “small corruption”, because with 10 EUR you can get what you want. Here, it’s “big corruption”, because if you give someone 10 EUR, you will end in jail, but if you give 1000 EUR you will get what you want!”

Political corruption is the use of legislated powers by government officials for illegitimate private gain. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_corruption)
