Mojito cocktail for all seasons!
Fabulous summer drink! Or should I say: summer, winter, autumn or fall, is it important? Mojito for all seasons :)
Mojito cocktail is at the top of my favorite drink list (if you didn’t realize that from my first sentences:))
Thank God that Pierce Brosnan ordered that drink in Cuba in the James Bond movie “Die Another Day” :) Thus has began my Mojito madness…
It’s not necessary to have shaker or other “tools” (bar spoon, blender, shaker…) what professional bartenders use. This is “my improvisation” and trust me: comparing with Mojito cocktails what you can get in some bars, this one is much better. In some bars they use white sugar instead of brown sugar (that is most popular and that is unforgivable), somewhere else they use lemon concentrate instead of lime, or they just use cheap ready-made Mojito what they are buying in supermarkets…
What you need for Ellad2 Mojito
:
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- About 10 (or more if you like) mint leaves
- A lot of ice cubes
- 2 limes (not lemons! It’s not the same)
- 2 oz white rum (I use Bacardi rum)
- Soda water (if you don’t have Soda, just put cold water)
Preparation:
1. Place the brown sugar and the mint leaves in the glass (a big glass).
2. Muddle with wooden pestle (muddler) well to dissolve the sugar and to release the mint flavor.
3. Squeeze the juice from 1 lime into the glass
4. Add Bacardi white rum
5. Stir well
6. Add half or whole second lime in slices
7. Add a lot of ice cubes (to the top of the glass)
8. And fulfill glass with water (soda water)
9. Mix everything
10. Garnish with the mint spring
11. Put colorful straw and cheers!
So, this is my recipe. Maybe you like sweeter (put more sugar), or stronger (put more rum), or put less lime… Make your perfect combination. This recipe works very well for me and it’s a base for you to try your own perfect combination for Mojito.
