I show a great interest in what they are talking about (Part 6)
The point is: We all like when someone is listening to us and show interest for what we are talking about (and how we are talking….).
So, I nod my head, saying from time to time “yes”… then I ask a question… then again nodding, “yes” phase, question…etc.
Don’t think it’s easy! Sometimes, the story (or people) is so bloody boring, that I would rather work in the mine (all shifts)! But, you can’t see that on my face
Maybe you can develop that listening skill… It could be useful in other situations in your life, too.
I learned that from my father. I had a real example in front of me for many years. I always had the impression that he was very interesting in what other people were talking about. But, he only used that nodding/yes/question technique. And what was the funniest: Everybody liked to “talk” with him and they were always coming back for more
Most of the time it was the process of: It goes in one ear and right out the other.
So, it was not important or he was listening, it was important that they were talking!
