The story of J.L., one of many successful business women…

Once, my colleague asked me:” How you can talk with clients like that?”

“How?” – I asked.
“So relaxing, open…you make jokes with them, and then you talk seriously, you are talking about things what I would not dare to say them…”
“And why not?” – I asked again.
“That’s a client!”
“So what?” – I asked again.
“I don’t know, but I can’t do like that”
“Therefore, you are not doing my job.”

Not everyone can be a salesman, or Account Manager in a Marketing Agency or to work in the Client service. Moreover, good Salesman’s are a rarity.

The most difficult job is to find a good Salesman and that is also one of the most important things for Companies. When you don’t have enough “quality” than you are trying to make it up with “quantity”. So, your Sales force becomes bigger and bigger…

I have over 15 years experience in Marketing and Sales. I can say “I have a very successful career. I will tell you my secret about my business communication. In this post, I will only enumerate them and in the following posts and explain every secret individually using the concrete example.

Maybe I will sound to you like a hypocrite bich, but what a hell!  That’s your problem, not mine. I do my job still very good and successful. Do you?

So, what is my secret?

  1. First, I was born with very good communication skill. Sorry, I can’t help you in that. I don’t believe that you can learn that.
  2. For me, all clients are the same big challenge.
  3. My attitude – I work with people, not with a system.
  4. I am natural, polite and human!
  5. I show a great interest in what they are talking about.
  6. I ask a lot of questions.
  7. I express admiration.
  8. I show compassion.
  9.  I show understanding.
  10.  I use some stories or facts from daily life (news, private life…)
  11.  I admit my mistakes from the past.
  12.  I present the project (product/service) with huge self confidence.
  13.  After getting a job, I am staying in contact with the client.
  14.  I don’t cheat my clients.
  15.  And last, but not least: I am attractive, charming woman with great sense of humor.

P.S. I read a lot, try to be up to date with daily events, try to follow a wide range of topics (that’s always a good back up for a story with a client). I follow new ways of communication. I like to learn new things every day (they are my inspiration) and because of that I have participated in this Blog :) J.L.
