Honey Mustard salad dressing
This is old, but for me “Hall of Fame recipe” for salad dressing. This is also very simple dressing to make and you probably have always in your house ingredients for it.
You need:
- 1 teaspoon Mustard (I recommend dijon stone ground mustard instead of regular mustard)
- 1 teaspoon Honey
- 3 tablespoon Olive oil (you can add also a little bit sunflower oil)
- Salt and pepper In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients until you get smooth mass.
Pour over the salad and stir. For what kind of salads you can use this dressing? It’s best with green salads, for example these combinations:
- Leaf lettuces (chopped different kind), cucumber, olives.
- Leaf lettuces and cabbage (chopped). You can add here cucumber too, if you like.
What else? – You can also put cooked and in slices cut egg over the salad. Looks nice and it’s tasty.
- You can add rucola, or celery, or bell peppers…
- Instead of olive oil, you can put ¼ cup of mayonnaise and add ½ tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Then, instead of mayonnaise you can put fat free yogurt if you want a light version. etc.
Any way, you can use this dressing for the salad like a main dish. Beside different kind of vegetables, add for example chopped chicken or turkey breast (or bacon) and that’s it.
